Sportklinik Hellersen clinic magazine

With our clinic magazine Hellersen Insight, we give you exciting insights into everyday life at our specialist clinic for orthopaedics, trauma surgery and sports medicine in Lüdenscheid. A wide range of topics from the medical specialties of the sports clinic, authentic patient and staff stories, portraits of our specialists and articles on health policy issues from the Märkischer Kreis region make the magazine a varied read. Hellersen Insight is not only published in printed form, but is also available online and can be read digitally at any time.

Current magazine issue 02/2025

The new issue of Hellersen Insight focuses on the future of medicine. Topics such as artificial intelligence, robot-assisted surgery and innovative spinal medicine show how technological advances are shaping patient care at Sportklinik Hellersen. In an interview,
CEO Dirk Burghaus talks about the opportunities that artificial intelligence offers for everyday clinical practice and how digital systems can make treatments even more targeted and efficient. In addition, Dr. Stefan Schmidl, Chief of the Center for Artificial Joint Replacement, explains how robot-assisted arthroplasty combines precision and progress in surgical care.

Another focus of the magazine is the political visits to Sportklinik Hellersen. Representatives from state and local politics were informed on site about the medical development, international orientation and innovative strength of the specialist clinic. Discussions focused on future topics such as the Rhine-Ruhr region's bid to host the Olympics, the internationalization of the specialist clinic and securing skilled workers in the healthcare sector.

The special section of this issue is dedicated to the German Spine and Scoliosis Center at Sportklinik Hellersen. Here, the specialist areas of conservative orthopaedics, spinal surgery and special spinal surgery work closely together and pool their expertise to offer patients modern, holistic care at the highest medical level. Consultant Physician Zeyad Langhi, who, in addition to his work at Sportklinik Hellersen, also operates on a voluntary basis in his home country of Libya and provides medical help to people who would otherwise have no access to modern care, will be introduced. The international importance of Sportklinik Hellersen's expertise is also demonstrated beyond national borders at the specialist congress in China, where Chief Physician Dr. Oliver Meier and Consultant Physician Liang Zhou presented their experience in scoliosis treatment and impressively illustrated how much the specialist clinic's expertise is valued worldwide.

There is also a very special reason to celebrate: our clinic magazine Hellersen Insight was awarded second place in the clinic magazine category at the KU Awards 2025, once again winning a national award
